Legacy Five

When the Legendary Cathedral Quartet retired in December of 1999, Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett decided to continue the rich musical tradition of Southern Gospel Quartet singing. Legacy Five was organized and had their official debut in January 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia. Since that day, they have made a major mark on the Southern Gospel Music world. Immediately audiences responded overwhelmingly to their four-part harmony and their ability to effectively communicate the message of Christ. Since the quartet’s formation, they have established and maintained a firm place at the top of Christian music.

Legacy Five has enjoyed more success in their short career than many groups experience in decades. In their first ten years, The Singing News Magazine, Southern Gospel music’s leading fan and trade publication, has nominated Legacy Five for some 75 Singing News fan awards. Year after year they are recognized as one of Gospel music’s favorite southern gospel groups. The Southern Gospel Music Association honored Legacy Five with Recording of the year and they have had 2 Dove Award nominations.

Legacy Five has been featured on numerous video tapings of the Gaither and friends Homecoming Video series, which has sold multiple millions of copies worldwide. They have also appeared on In Touch, with Dr. Charles Stanley, as well as In Touch Ministries’ sponsored cruises. Legacy Five is also regulars at Dr. David Jeremiah’s Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California. Viewers across America have seen Legacy Five on TNN, TBN, Sky Angel, INSP, GMT, The Odyssey Network and a host of local channels.

Joseph Habedank

Daywind recording artist Joseph Habedank is a multi award-winning and Dove Award nominated singer/songwriter.  Joseph has a unique and equally powerful testimony that has been featured on FoxNews.com’s Spirited Debate, TBN’s Praise the Lord, and in such publications as Billboard Magazine, CCM Magazine, and Glenn Beck’s The Blaze.  For ten years, he served first as baritone, then as the lead singer for one of Southern Gospel’s favorite family groups, the Perrys, and shared his songs in some of America’s greatest churches, including the Brooklyn Tabernacle and Charles Stanley’s First Baptist Atlanta.  On the heels of his critically-acclaimed debut solo release, Welcome Home, he was awarded Singing News Magazine’s New Soloist of the Year in 2014.  Additionally, he was awarded Young Artist of the Year in 2009 by the fans of Gospel Music and Songwriter of the Year at the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards in 2011.  His songs have been recorded by such artists as: Reba McEntire (“Sing It Now”), Brian Free & Assurance, Karen Peck & New River, The Hoppers, Ivan Parker, Jeff & Sheri Easter, and many more.  He has helped write two nationally charted #1 songs and in 2010, “If You Knew Him” (written with Rodney Griffin) was nominated for Southern Gospel Song of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards and won the Singing News Fan Award for Song of the Year.  He was also nominated for Singing News Magazine’s Male Vocalist of the Year, Lead Singer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for three consecutive years.  Welcome Home featured two Top 5 singles (“Never No Never” and “Beauty of the Blood”), as well as two Top 10 singles (“Big Enough” and “Welcome Home”).  Joseph currently resides just outside Nashville, TN with his wife, Lindsay.

Jeff & Sheri Easter

For Jeff and Sheri, gospel music is genetically programmed into their DNA. As members of acclaimed musical families—Jeff’s father is one of the Easter Brothers and Sheri’s mother is a member of The Lewis Family—they grew up surrounded by the sound of people praising God through their musical gifts.

In August of 1984, both were at the Albert E. Brumley Sundown to Sunup Gospel Singing in Arkansas. Jeff, who was playing bass for the Singing Americans at the time, took the opportunity to reintroduce himself to Sheri’s mother Polly; they had met on a previous occasion. Polly introduced Jeff to Sheri and the two were married ten months later.

They traveled and performed as part of The Lewis Family for several years. But in 1988 they decided it was time to strike out on their own, and they haven’t looked back since. Also joining Jeff & Sheri on the road is their son, Madison, who plays electric guitar for the group and their daughter, Morgan, who joins them with vocals to round out the kind of harmonies that only family can produce.  The newest addition to the Easter family is Maura Grace, Jeff and Sheri’s ‘twentieth anniversary gift to each other’, who generally makes her way onstage doing anything to bring a smile.

Jeff & Sheri have been nominated for numerous Dove Awards and won five. They’ve also received a Grammy nomination, and Sheri has been named the Singing News Favorite Alto eleven times and the Singing News Female Vocalist four times. Jeff & Sheri’s wall of awards also include three Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association Awards, two International Country Gospel Music Association, nine Voice Awards for Female Artist, five Voice Awards for Song/Single of the Year, two Voice Awards for Christian Country Group, four SGM Fan Fair/USGN awards, five SGN Scoops Diamond Awards, four Hearts Aflame Awards, and three Cash Box awards. They have also participated in the Gaither Homecoming Video Series since 1993, which has sold over 15 million units.

Apart from their frequent appearances on the Gaither Homecoming tour and videos, Jeff & Sheri have a fairly heavy touring schedule of their own. “When we perform, we want people to leave a little different than when they came in,” Sheri explains. “We want them to have a great time smiling, laughing, crying and healing. We want them to know God loves them and that He is in control.
