Traveling While Black is a film by Academy Award winner Roger Ross Williams and Emmy Award-winning Felix & Paul Studios that transports viewers to historic Ben’s Chili Bowl restaurant in Washington, D.C. through a twenty-minute virtual reality experience.
Viewers share an intimate series of moments with several of Ben’s patrons as they reflect on their experiences of restricted movement and race relations in the United States, offering the opportunity to facilitate a dialogue about the challenges minority travelers still face today.
Tickets are free but do require reservations. The exhibit is open to the public on Saturdays, April 15 – May 6. Visitors can park at Luhrs Center and meet their docent in the Luhrs Center lobby, who will escort them across the street to the exhibit in the Ceddia Union Building.
Please click here to make a reservation, or call 717-477-7469 (M-F, 10-4 pm)
